Redefining BNPL: Combining a Human-Centric Vision with New Regulations

BNPL has been one of the fastest growing sub-markets within the financial services sector for several years. While consumer use is increasing rapidly, so is the criticism from regulators and consumer organizations. At European level, work is being done on the Consumer Credit Directive (CCD). BNPL hereby comes under the scope of the Consumer Credit Directive and must comply with various requirements regarding the provision of information, creditworthiness testing and arrears management. During this session, we will delve deeper into the impact of the CCD and how a human-centric vision can provide guidance to redefine BNPL in the run-up to these new regulations.
